Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST)

This is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch – about the weight of a nickel – Brad will release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the function of the nervous system, treat stress, neck and back pain and migraines.

By gently working with the spine, skull, it’s cranial sutures, diaphragms and fascia – restriction of the nerve passages are eased, the movements of cerebrospinal fluid is optimized and misaligned bones are stored to their proper positions.

A typical craniosacral therapy session usually lasts an hour and involves the upledger methods of analyzing the base cranial rhythm; creating a still point at the base of the skull; rocking the sacrum; lengthening the spine in the lumbar-sacral region; addressing the pelvic, respiratory and thoracic diaphragms, releasing the hyoid bone in the throat and addressing each one of the cranial bones.  Brad will determine which steps are suitable for you and may or may not follow them exactly depending on time restraints and your particular needs.

A session will induce sleep and produce a deep sense of relaxation.  You may schedule a full hour of Cranio-Sacral therapy or have some of these techniques incorporated into your regular therapy.
